PITCH DECKS
THAT HELP GET
AFRICAN FILMS
& SERIES FUNDED

GREAT IDEAS DON’T GET FUNDED.
CLEARLY PACKAGED IDEAS DO.

Plot Twist helps filmmakers and studios package ideas into clear, compelling, fundable pitches.

We have over 10 years experience in this and a proven track record.

Plot Twist founder Kevin Kriedemann:
• conceptualised and curated Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire (above), which won Emmy, Annie, Kidscreen, and South African Film and Television Awards for Triggerfish. As part of associate producing and developing the anthology with executive producers Anthony Silverston, Tendayi Nyeke and Oscar winner Peter Ramsey, Kevin got to watch the 15 shortlisted projects pitch to the Disney/Pixar brains trust.
• helped to conceptualise the Triggerfish Story Lab, which generated 1,400 entries from across the continent and led to the production of three African animated series, for Disney Channel, Disney+ and Netflix.
• helped to conceptualise the Al Jazeera-Encounters pitching forum for documentaries, which led to Ndiyindoda (I Am Man) and others screening on Al Jazeera English.
• associate produced Rollaball, Big World Cinema’s feature documentary about Ghana’s skate soccer team. This set a (then) record for the most money raised on Kickstarter by an African production company.

As the lead PR agency for Showmax, we sat through over 100 director’s pitches, seeing first-hand what landed and what didn’t with the streamer, while helping to define the hooks and unique selling points for the audience.

That’s what we love to do: help creatives think clearly and find the strongest version of their pitch.
